Concrete or Masonary

Cracking of concrete or masonry supported by sawn lumber or engineered wood products is a design concern. The designer is referred to the building code for guidance (e.g. 2009 IBC 2304.12). Calculation of deflection under long-term loading (i.e. creep) is not automated in RedSpec™. It is the user's responsibility to adjust loads and/or deflection limits to properly design for long-term deflection.
