• Fixed an issue where the hanger image was offset from the bearing on the Spans tab when viewed on mobile devices.

• Fixed an issue that displayed an incorrect warning when only two members were selected for batch printing. 

• Corrected the Allowable Negative Moment displayed on the Results and Print tab for I-Joists with uplift loading and an Uplift Bracing option selected on the Spans tab. A beam stability factor is now applied to the Allowable Negative Moment based on the calculated bracing spacing. 

• On the Spans tab, selecting an Uplift Bracing option automatically locks the bottom Lateral Support setting to Continuous. The required bottom Lateral Support spacing is calculated after member design is complete. Selecting “Do not calculate wind uplift bracing” unlocks the bottom Lateral Support setting.

• A warning will now appear in the Design tab if you type in a custom truss depth that is not within the range for the truss series selected.

  • For I-Joists, RedSpec will now calculate the amount and type of wind bracing required when a negative uniform wind load is input. 

  • There are two different methodologies to choose from;

    • Lateral-Torsional Stability Method

• Concentrated Live Load for Roof Members can be input in the Application Load tab

  • Concentrated load is a code prescribed live load that is checked over a 30” square area in addition to dead loads (all other live loads removed).  For a Roof subject to maintenance workers, the minimum concentrated load is 300 lbs per the IBC Table 1607.1.  The user can also input a custom value.
