On this tab you select the type of product, the profile, and whether the member is to be used in a floor or roof application. The selections you make on this tab will determine the availability of many of the options in the following tabs. For example, if you choose a floor I-joist, the member slope input will no longer be available, but the floor performance options will be enabled.
Member Name:
You may change the Member name at any time
Folder:
You may change the Folder this Member is assigned to within this Project.
Please remember, there are Folders that allow you to organize Projects, and there are Folders within Projects that allow you to organize Members.

Click to select one or the other. Tapered and pitched profiles will not be available if “Floor” is selected. Depth and span are input on other tabs.

The available product types and profiles are shown graphically on large buttons. Click to select. For a description of the various product types, see RedBuilt™ products. RedBuilt™ offers profiles to meet many architectural needs. In addition to the profiles available in RedSpec™, there are barrel, bowstring, scissor, and lenticular open-web trusses, as well as tapered I-joists. For design assistance with profiles not shown, please contact Sales Support.
The choice of product type affects the availability of other RedSpec features and certain design settings, as summarized in the table.
